ZOOM29 Aug 2008 to 15 Sep 2008 - last updated: 03 September 2008 It was announced on 28 August that "Zoom" had ceased trading; We are now re-protecting all our affected passengers and will contact them to confirm the new details, once we know what we can secure by way of alternative flights. Whilst we reprotect our existing passengers, we will leave our Zoom allocation on sale (prefix ZX) so that its still easy & possible to book, and any flights booked under that code will then progressively be reprotected, once the imminent departures have been sorted out. Customers or Agents need not be concerned about booking flights on our systems with the ZX prefix, as we will advise of the alternative details shortly. STANSTED27 Aug 2008 to 12 Sep 2008 - last updated: 29 August 2008 Security Scanner Operators at Stansted are planning further "go slow" action in support of their industrial dispute. You should turn up & check in on time for your flight, and possibly try to add 30mins extra time, but be prepared for delays. You can help minimise delays & disruption if you make absolutely certain that you observe the usual hand baggage size / weight / security restictions (see below). AIRPORT SECURITY13 Sep 2007 to 30 Oct 2908 - last updated: 29 August 2008 Remember that some airlines are sticking with the "one small item of hand baggage" rule that has been in place for some time, and even where the airline permits any additional hand baggage, there may be charges for this. In your hand baggage, only small quantities (100ml) of "liquid" may be taken through Airport Security & into the aircraft cabin. This covers gel/paste/lotion/cream/perfume/drinks/foam etc., and if you must take anything like this, the containers must be placed in a clear re-sealable plastic bag, 20cmx20cm (like a sandwich bag). Anything else will be confiscated. Detailed advice is available on the DfT Website - http://www.dft.gov.uk/ including specific information about the way that hand baggage should be presented for scanning. Our advice is that you continue to travel very light, as security checks are still thorough, so the less you carry, the less there is to check, and the quicker you can be processed through the airport.
